Ellena Kalomiris
Ellena is currently a Freelance Journalist, with extensive experience in both print, online and broadcast Journalism. She holds two degrees in Media, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, majoring in Journalism from the University of Western Sydney, and a MA in Journalism from the University of Technology Sydney. She is in her final year of law with the University of Western Sydney.
Ellena started her work as a Journalist with her local paper, The Torch Newspaper assisting the editor as a work experience student. She then completed her internship with SBS News Radio, working in the radio news room as well as an assistant reporter to the Greek Language Program. She was also a casual Researcher with the Insight Program hosted by Jenny Brockie.
Whilst completing her Masters, Ellena worked as a Journalist and Producer for 2SM Radio based in Sydney. Casually assisting in the newsroom, her main focuss what producing the afternoon sports show Talkinsport, hosted by former sport players Graeme Hughes, Mark Geyer, Brett Papworth and occasionally by Wayne Cousins.
Ellena also has a strong interest in International Human Rights issues, and hopes to one day assist at an orphanage in Africa.
